Exports to Japan are not optimistic.

The Shandong provincial chamber of commerce took Shandong as an example to analyze the situation of textile and clothing exports to Japan.

He said that in the 1-7 month of this year, Shandong's textile and clothing exports to Japan, the largest economic province in China, amounted to US $2 billion 300 million, although it grew by 4.2% over the same period last year, but the growth rate was 12.9 percentage points below the average daily export growth.

The person said that for textile and clothing, raw materials output and price impact.

Cotton prices in China have been rising since the end of last year, rising 37% in the first half of this year, and the price is close to the highest level in 15 years.

Because of China's domestic

cotton

With the decrease of planting area and the decline of international cotton stocks, the tight supply situation of cotton is difficult to change this year. The high cotton price makes Shandong textile enterprises face greater cost pressure, and the profit margins of enterprises are further compressed.

At the same time, Japan's tariff cut will reduce China's competitiveness in textile and clothing exports to Japan.

Recently, Japanese officials were prepared to revise the preferential tariff system for importing products from developing countries and reduce the margin of preference.

Japan's preferential tariff is 5 billion 500 million yen, of which about 20% is used by China.

The increase in tariffs will further enhance the Japanese occupation.

Export prices will reduce the competitiveness of Chinese products in the Japanese market.

In analyzing Shandong's exports to Japan's textile and apparel industry, the person said that some ASEAN countries also occupied the market share of China's low-end textile and apparel products by relying on low cost advantages.

At present, ASEAN countries such as Kampuchea, Bangladesh and Thailand are competing fiercely in the low-end market with China's export of Japanese textile and apparel with low cost advantages.

Vietnam's use of the EPA agreement with Japan (from Vietnam and other ASEAN countries to zero tariff treatment on Japanese exports) has increased its price competitiveness. Vietnam's textile and garment exports to Vietnam increased by 23% in the first 7 months of this year.
