Zhejiang Shaoxing Forms Textile Industry Cluster

"Shaoxing County has the most complete category and largest production capacity of textile production base in China. It has basically formed a complete industrial chain from the former PTA, chemical fiber raw materials to weaving, printing and dyeing, home textile and clothing, and has become one of the important textile industry cluster bases in China." Xu Huanming, secretary of the Shaoxing County Party Committee in Zhejiang Province, recently held the 2008 China (Shaoxing) It was introduced at the Beijing press conference of the International Textile Expo.  
He said that in 2007, Shaoxing County had an annual output of 2.27 million tons of various chemical fibers, 5.6 billion meters of chemical fiber cloth, 13.9 billion meters of printed and dyed cloth, 222 million pieces (sets) of clothing, an annual textile output value of 113.711 billion yuan, and an annual textile sales revenue of 111.53 billion yuan, accounting for 65% of the county's total industrial output value and sales revenue.  
Xu Huanming said that Shaoxing County has the largest and most diversified textile trading center in Asia. At present, China Light Textile City, located in the county, has basically formed a textile trade platform of "southern fabric trade zone, central international trade zone, northern market innovation zone, and western raw material leading zone". The market area is 2.38 million square meters, more than 15000 business rooms, more than 30000 kinds of fabrics, 100000 person times daily passenger flow, and products are exported to 187 countries and regions in the world, In 2007, the market turnover was 57.498 billion yuan, becoming an important textile trading center in China. On October 21, 2007, China Keqiao Textile Index, the first textile index in China, was released to the world, which further established the "voice" position of the textile industry of China Light Textile City and Shaoxing County in the industry and led the promotion of the textile professional market and the development of the textile industry into a new "index era".  
Relying on strong textile production capacity, unique professional market and advanced scientific and technological information advantages, Shaoxing County has successfully held eight consecutive China (Shaoxing) International Textile Expositions. The 8th "Textile Expo" in 2007 attracted a total of 18713 professional buyers, achieving a turnover of 3.858 billion yuan. This year's "Textile Expo" will be held from October 17 to 20, and will highlight four characteristics: a higher level of internationalization, a higher level of specialization, a higher level of marketization, and a higher level of informatization.
